In the dark days of WW2, for the first time, Australians were forced to defend their own country, their own soil. This was not “fighting someone else’s war”, thousands of miles away.
We were defending our land, our homes and families, our way of life and freedom.
What do you think? How far do you think Australia has come since those days? Is there anything we as a government and we as a people could do better?

The Battle for Australia 1942 means that the servicemen and women should be thanked and remembered for saving Australia from the Japanese invasion in 1942.

Dad flew Kittyhawks with 76 Squadron at Milne Bay - (and also Spitfires in the Battle for France in 452 Squadron - 130 combat missions). This day is especially significant for me because, by rights, I should not be here.
