  1. How can I find out what's playing on The History Channel or when my favourite show might air again?

Go to the TV Guide on The History Channel website. Here you can search daily TV schedules 7 days in advance or alternatively you can search by program name in the TV Shows section.

  2. How can I obtain a copy of a show I saw on The History Channel?

Unfortunately we do not accept requests from viewers to sell or distribute copies of programs aired on The History Channel.

Selling or distributing any of the on air material would mean a breach of our legal obligations and contracts. That said, some distributors do sell some of their programs on video/DVD or sell program merchandise and transcripts.

Alternatively, try searching on www.google.com or www.amazon.com for the programs or products you wish to purchase

  3. Are The History Channel shows closed-captioned?

The History Channel was activated for closed captioning in early 2006. Some but not all shows are closed-captioned.

  4. How do new shows get chosen and when do new shows get aired on The History Channel?

Ultimately the shows on The History Channel are chosen by the Programming Department and Management. All shows are viewed with groups to gauge a wide variety of tastes. If all groups agree then it's a pretty good sign that the show will suit the channel. Due to contractual reasons, sometimes it can take a number of months before the program is broadcast. Also due to the fact many programs need to be sent from overseas there can sometimes be delivery delays.

Our objective is to provide a complete program schedule that showcases the best that The History Channel can from Australia and around the world.
